Objective

Rhythm – Short Turns – Body Separation

Description

Put your poles together and hold them in one hand (or use just one pole). Practice passing them from one hand to the other in front and behind you so they are traveling around your body. This can then be applied while performing short turns. 

Why

This can aid with body separation by keeping the upper body busy with the poles, the legs then have to work alone to create turns. It is also a nice way to challenge balance therefore help to improve at the skiers ability to actively find balance.

Variation / Progression

A simpler version is just passing one ski pole from hand to hand.
